Rapper Olamide Dumps Ambode, Endorses Sanwo-Olu?

Olamide has showed support for Babajide Sanwo-Olu after defeating Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the Lagos APC guber primary that took place in the state on Tuesday.

The rapper approved a post by Lagos big boy and NURTW boss, MC Oluomo who took to Instagram to shower praises on APC’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the party’s governorship candidate Sanwo-Olu following their victory.

Oluomo got a like from Olamide for his photo with Tinubu, which caption reads: “He [Tinubu] own the party and anywhere his interest belong I Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya Mc Oloumo belong.

“I and my people in Oshodi formerly endorse HE Akinwunmi Ambode for 2nd term because his government is still working in the shadow of the party national leader, but now the case is vice-visa I have to follow the interest of Bola Ahmend Tinubu and the party decision. If Tinubu again says is no more Babajide Sanwoolu but someone else, so shall it be.”

The result of the primary election as announced by the Lagos State Chairman of the APC, Tunde Balogun on Tuesday night showed Sanwo-Olu had 970,851 votes while Ambode scored 72,901 votes.

Just three days ago, Olamide publicly declared support for Ambode’s second term bid with a post on his Instagram page with over 3.7million followers. “Four more my daddy,” Olamide captioned the campaign photo posted on his page.


In 2016, Olamide released a promotional song titled “I Love Lagos” for the Ambode-led Lagos administration. The YBNL rapper was dressed as a LAWMA worker in the music video shot by Unlimited LA.

Olamide also boasted in hit song “Fada Fada” with Phyno; “E no easy to dey chill with Governor Ambode Na Father figure the Governor e be to me oh Since I lost my dad na him e don adopt me o.”
