Cesc Fabregas gets his SECOND Guinness World Record after Chelsea midfielder becomes fastest player to reach 100 Premier League assists

The 31-year-old proudly posed with his latest accolade after it became clear he entered the catalogue having become the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League assists.  

'I'm not the fastest, I'm not the strongest, I'm not the most flexible, I don't jump high,' Fabregas said. 

'But to achieve this record in my career is one of the proudest things in my job, because it is my job and I did it well.'

The landmark assist came on 31 December 2016, the Chelsea midfielder getting his century in the Premier League in what was just his 293rd match.

Earning himself a Guinness World Record is nothing new to the Spaniard. He earned his first World Record title away from the football pitch and on the set of Sky 1's 'A League of Their Own' back in July 2017.

Among the other footballing record-breakers to appear in 2019 Guinness World Book of Records are Mohamed Salah (Most goals in a Premier League season – 32, & Most games scored in during a Premier League season – 24) and Harry Kane (Most Premier League goals scored in a calendar year – 39 & Most Premier League hat-tricks in a calendar year – 6)

Manchester City are also in on four counts - Most points – 100, Most wins – 32, Most goals – 106 and Most consecutive wins in the Premier League.

A product of Barcelona's fabled youth set-up, the Spaniard reveals the impact on his development when he stepped up to train with world class players such as Thierry Henry after moving to Arsenal. 

'In the middle of training, I'd just had my mouth open,' he said. 'I couldn't believe what I was seeing. 

'The first touches of Dennis Bergkamp, the finishing of Thierry Henry, the presence of Patrick Vieira, I was very fortunate.'
