Everyone wants to feel safe, but sometimes burglars come up with such odd ways to break into your house that it feels impossible to be able to prepare. That's why it's important to take any warnings that you hear to heart, like this one out of England.
Recently, reports have been made of a concerning new trend in home invasion, and police in England are warning that it could start spreading fast.

According to Boredom Therapy, Portishead citizens have reported seeing an unidentified man deliver unsolicited clothing charity bags to homes in the area.
But he places three white stones outside of the home before he leaves the property.

Completely innocent, right?
Wrong.
Portishead Neighborhood Watch coordinator Nick Gough said these distinctive stones are believed to have been left outside of properties which look unoccupied. This includes stones being left under rear tires of some cars, possibly to act as a test for homeowner activity at the address.
But that’s not all they’re doing.
The appearance of the stones was originally believed to be in conjunction with a series of paint and chalk markings that people reported randomly appearing on their homes and curbs last year.

Thankfully, those markings were later determined to be the work of local utility companies. But as for the stones, that theory has yet to be debunked.
It's thought that they could be a signal that these homes are easy targets for thiefs and lets burglars know what they can expect to find inside.

So while it might seem a little paranoid to be on the lookout for these things, it’s certainly better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the security of your home and your family!
